In celebration of National Golf Month, we are featuring "The Legendary 18"—awe-inspiring yet challenging holes from each of our properties around the globe combined into one iconic course. On the first hole at Trump International Doonbeg, the clubhouse surrounds the tee box, which presents an intimidating start. The wild Atlantic Ocean stares you in the face as you attempt to conquer this beast. A small pot bunker sits approximately 260 yards from the tee box and must be avoided at all costs. The fairway is lined on both sides with natural sand dunes, and the only sound you hear are the waves crashing against the shore. The green sits in a wonderful amphitheater surrounded by magnificent 100-foot dunes. Numerous deep bunkers provide a significant defense to this brilliantly designed Martin Hawtree green. Subtle undulation with some humps and hollows allow the golfers to be as creative as they can be. This is truly one of Ireland’s greatest opening holes.
